Read on for the answers.

How many Jeeps do you have?

As of Nov, 2009, we have four Jeeps
® - two 2-door models and two 4-door.  You can see pictures of them and make reservations on the Fleet page.

Can I drive the Jeep® off-road?

The short answer is, "Yes, you can - within reason."  Jeeps
® are tough but they're not indestructible. There are two common 4-wheeling activities that are specifically prohibited in Adventure Wheels® Jeeps® - "mudding" and "rock-crawling".

We're not saying you can't drive through a mud puddle or a muddy rut in a dirt road.  But running at high-speed through a mud bog will flood the engine compartment, suspension and brakes with mud which hardens and can cause expensive damage to critical components such as brakes, electrical and cooling systems.

The situation is similar with traversing rocky terrain.  Impact with the Jeep's
® body or bumpers coming off of rocks will cause damage likely to be expensive to repair.  Impact or even excess strain can break axles disabling the Jeep® out of reach of assistance.  Most vulnerable components underneath the Jeep® are protected by skid plates and double-walled construction but the driver is taking a serious risk any time the vehicle impacts or drags across a boulder or hard surface.

A good rule of thumb with either mud or rocks is to attempt nothing higher or deeper than the hub of a wheel.  In mud, go only as fast as necessary to avoid getting stuck.  This is by no means a guarantee but use common sense.  Always remember that you, the renter, are ultimately responsible for any damage to the vehicle caused directly by an action you take, behave accordingly, and you should be fine.

Purchasing the optional Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) in no way allows damaging off-road usage nor does it limit the renter's responsibility for damage caused as described above as it will be considered by our insurance company under the terms of the CDW to be "caused intentionally or by willful or wanton misconduct".

What are your hours?

Our hours are very flexible.  We can accommodate just about any hours you need - just ask.

We avoid a lot of overhead and expense by not having a store-front.  That also means that we don't have to hang around waiting for someone to call so it's no trouble at all to start or end a rental at odd hours.

For you that means if you want a Jeep
® delivered to your driveway at 7am or 10pm it's no problem.  All we ask is that you give us a little warning.

Where are you located?

Adventure Wheels
® is sort of an Internet company that can drive in the "real" world.  We don't have a store-front or a parking lot or an electric bill or anything else that would make it really hard to start small and grow as demand increases.

We have made special arrangements with the credit card companies to offer a completely secure, full-service, mobile point-of-sale system so we can bring the Jeep
® and the rental counter right to you.

How much do you charge for mileage?

Nothing extra is charged for mileage.  You can even drive to other states while paying nothing but the daily or weekly fee and tax you see on your quote.  Having ourselves rented vehicles for years traveling for business or vacation, we at Adventure Wheels
® want our customers to know exactly what their adventure will cost when they drive off in their
Jeep
® rental.  We charge only for value and service you receive plus the local and state taxes required by law - no mileage or extra "surcharges".

Will you be able to drop off or pick up my Jeep
® when I want it?

Probably.  It's always possible that multiple reservations will be so close together that we may need to negotiate an earlier or later time.

But we promise that you will never be charged more for rental time just because of our scheduling needs.  If you want a Jeep
® from 6pm one day until 6pm the next day but we can't pick up until 7pm you won't be charged for the extra time.

Let's talk and we'll find something that works for everyone and hey, it beats waiting in line, right?

Where will you deliver a Jeep
®?

We drop-off and pick-up at no additional charge to any address in Tarrant, Dallas or Denton plus all the adjacent counties.

Beginning November 2009 we have added the Austin area and all the area along Interstate 35 between the Dallas/Fort Worth area and Austin for rentals of two or more days.

If you wonder whether we can serve you where you are, give us a call or an email and let's see if we can work something out.  We have had the pleasure of serving customers as far east as Tyler, as far north as Denton and as far south as Cleburne.  And we look forward to meeting you.
